Airfield Systems Engineer

Who are we?

We develop and support PAMS systems that provide alarm management for air traffic control towers.  These systems use our in-house, UK developed software and allow:

  • Air traffic engineers to see an accurate status of all airfield ground based equipment
  • Air traffic controllers to see an overview of the equipment in a clear and easy to understand way
PAMS has been provided to both commercial airports and UK MOD airfields.

PAMS has the potential to be a significantly larger sector for Tascomp, not only in the UK but globally.  As a result the business is now aiming to address this with a more targeted approach.

What you will do?

The provision of software and systems for airfields is highly regulated and as a result requires a significant amount of control to be exercised over the system designs, modifications and documentation.  Your role will include:

  • Engaging with customers
  • Producing documentation:
    • Functional Design Specifications
    • FAT and SAT Test Scripts
    • Compliance Documentation
  • Configuring the software and systems
  • Running witnessed Factory Acceptance Tests
  • Delivering Training to customers
  • Commissioning new systems
  • Visiting customer sites
  • Providing support to customers
  • Marketing to new prospective customers
